"The preservation of our tree canopy in Oceanwalk is our overarching goal in the promulgation of rule-making for tree removal considerations… At the same time, dead or dying trees, safety concerns, and construction projects necessitate a reasonable and balanced consideration.Having said that, all tree removals must be submitted PRIOR to any action being initiated, or a violation of our Covenants and Restrictions has been committed. Below are three categories of tree removal considerations along with the necessary steps to be taken: 1)  Trees in the path of a proposed construction project are considered concurrently with the construction review by the Architectural Review Committee. A tree survey overlaid by the proposed construction footprint is a requisite part of the construction submission. 2) Obviously dead, dying, or severely diseased trees (no leaves during the growing season) can be submitted through Marvin Management merely as a written request. If it is THAT obvious, we are not going to ask that good money be spent on a professional arborist's opinion prior to consideration. 3) Requests to remove live , green but damaged trees, or those suspected to be a potential hazard must first be inspected, and a letter of recommendation presented  along with the request from one of Oceanwalk's approved Master Arborists (there are currently three on the approved list). Requests to remove LIVING trees will NOT be considered without a letter of recommendation from one of the afore mentioned Master Arborists.

It is our goaland our responsibility to do all that we can to insure that Oceanwalk has a beautiful tree canopy long after all of us are gone. As such, one goal would be that if a removal is approved from one site, a replacement tree be planted somewhere else on the premises. In that manner, future generations of Oceanwalk neighbors will enjoy the same beauty we enjoy today."
